I had been looking up and renting ‘base station’ type caravans for the past two years and then I stumbled across Paul’s Facebook market place listing (sometimes those algorithms are a blessing ). His offering was a custom built, far better quality, Aussie made caravan that was lighter and came with a much better price tag than any major competitor.
We started chatting with Paul and went to have a look at a similar van he was in the final stages of building. We were very impressed with the build quality and the way Paul communicated. We decided that afternoon that we would go ahead with the purchase.
Throughout the build Paul was amazing. Communication was on point, we dropped in to have a look at the build a number of times and any supplier issues were sorted promptly and with thought. We were able to customise the van to exactly what we wanted and the final product is an exact fit for our purpose. Actually, it’s better.
Our first trip away was a pleasure. The van towed beautifully behind our Ford Ranger and the fuel economy and work the engine did was noticeably better than the few ‘major brand’ toy haulers I had rented with a much larger gross weight.
We spent 4 nights away on our first trip. Completely off grid. Our 12v battery/solar set up was spot on. In fact unless we wanted to use A/C I don’t think we will ever need to plug in to a 240V system. Inside the van is light bright, modern and comfortable.
Paul’s products are a simple and elegant solution. As he is a small manufacturer, we were able to customise pretty much anything and Paul was happy to sort out some pretty elegant solutions for us with zero fuss. If you're in the market for a van of any purpose I’m sure he will end up delivering a product which will exceed your expectations. He definitely exceeded ours!
